2013 a new year, with only 5 entries on my blog in 2012 I will try to be more active this year. Since I have been grossly negligent in keeping in touch with everyone deserving of just that, therefor I shall try harder this year using this blog as a way of my lines of communication. This is by no means a New Year’s resolution by the way, for I do not make New Year’s resolutions. I think it easier to change the world around me to my better suiting than me changing myself.

What then to use as a topic for the first entry of the year, I wonder. There is no epic tale to tell about NYE so I will refrain from doing that. The harsh reality is that 2013 pretty much went on where it had left of last year, which could be translated in all work no play. 2012 will go down in my brief history as the year where I have worked more days than any year preceding that and less money has been made then in any of my working years. Not that I am complaining, anyone who knows me will know that I am not the type to complain, but if you were to indulge me for a moment I could add some more sad details to that list. Last year marks the first year in which I haven’t visited any new countries for the first time in probably over 10 years and yet I managed to spend a small fortune on visas.
On the brighter side of life I have seen some interesting places, met interesting people and hopefully gained some wisdom along the way. While being far away I was reunited with some close friends from home who either happened stop by in Bangkok or found themselves working in the same city as I did. Travel companions from previous trips were also seen again which made for some new great memories to add to the older ones.

A full recount of last year seems a bit beside the point since it has previously been mentioned in an earlier entry or otherwise deemed not interesting enough to make it to the blog. In an attempt to not turn this in into another lengthy story about nothing I will conclude this edition shortly.

An explanation is due, I feel, for the apparent change of language. When I started this blog a very long time ago it was done to keep you posted on my adventures down under. Since then I have used this blog most times I went on a new travel adventure to keep you once again in the loop of what was going on where ever I happened to be at that time. Sometime after that first momentous trip the people in charge of this website have added a page view counter (or however else something like that is called) to this site so I could see how many people visited my blog. While I take full responsibility for not providing you with stimulating enough tales I have seen a decline in responses to my stories. According to this meter the last couple of entries have been seen over a thousand times with next to no responses, this combined with numeral request if there was a English version of my blog made me decide to change the language from Dutch to English. I hope no one takes offense to this, should this be the case though written complaints will be taken under review.
For anyone who wishes to leave a comment and can’t read the Dutch instructions, you can leave your thoughts underneath. There’s three open spaces, 1st for your name (obligated), 2nd your email (optional), 3rd your thoughts, when finished press “Reactie plaatsen”button. (feel free to leave your comments in the language you prefer and in what merry, snarky, sarcastic tone you think is most funny)
Thank you for your attention and happy new year to all.

This blog will return, and I promise to be more entertaining. (did anyone notice the reference to James Bond there?)

    Broertje:

hmmm what to make of this bog....vocabulary quite nice and reasonable educated, quite long and grammatical correct (more or less)...many words, long phrases...not much told though...seems to me you are getting more and more a real teacher...i'll grade it a 7 but more to encourage you to continue than for strictly the performance.
In NL lang verhaal, weinig gezegd....kortom docent...

    grtz
